Chip used to do that too! If he was on our bed and he dropped a toy and we didn't get it for him, he would look at us, walk over to the nightstand, grab something off of it, and prance on past us as if to say "If you don't get my toy, this will suffice" knowing full well we'd take it from him and get his toy... smart lil devil!
