Many yorkies who have small white spots on their chest have been bred for years together never producing a "parti" colored yorkie, so I find it very doubtful they are carriers.

Is there a general consensus in the Yorkie world as to how the partis acquired so much white in them? 30% white seems like it is quite a bit from a small spot on the chest. Are they attributing it to recessive genes? Just curious as to how it is explained.
