my sadie has hers... but i am having them removed.. she had problems.. they could be in pain, and you might not know... i learned my lesson..
i will always remove them on the 2nd day and dock tails on day 2.... the quickstop worked well.. it only hurts for a sec... and they are very sleepy at this age.. it was hard to do the first one, but my mentor showed me.. i took them to her house.. next time i will do my own, but i had someone help me the first time..i think only the 1/3 tip is docked... leaving 2/3 of the tail..
it stopped bleeding real quick.. 3-4 minutes natural coagulation,, .. then i used the quickstop if it did not stop bleeding.. i would not twist or clamp, or suture for my puppies... sadie was not docked... but she needs her dew claws done by my vet... also clipping the first razorlike puppy toenails is important too..
