My dog went through this exact thing back in November after eating some Trident gum. I too chose to bring my baby home(mostly because I couldn't afford to keep him there) after they kept him at the clinic all afternoon monitoring him and his blood sugar. They sent me home with a syringe of a glucose medication/insulin and I had to give it to him all night. I also had to make him eat food every hour to help keep his blood sugar stable. I'm a diabetic so I have a monitor and was able to watch his blood sugar with that. The next morning I had to take him back to the clinic for them to check him and his blood sugar. It was a very long, scary weekend, but my baby made it through. If he didn't eat too much he has a very good chance that things will be fine.
