I am making the decision to spay my girl later on. (Shes just 10 weeks now.) My friend got a pomeranian and got her spayed. Her heart stopped during surgery. It was so sad.

I have also heard other horror stories from people I know, and maybe a few here. Is this a common thing for little ones?

My male doxie is 7 years old and in tact, which is why Im making the decision. I dont want them to breed. I've considered neutering him, but also I have heard that spaying a girl has health benefits.

Any advice or insight would be helpful in my decision. (I plan to never breed her.)
