I would look for tinges of blood in the urine. I have an 11 year old mini poodle who will on occasion get a urinary track infection. The 1st sign is always drinking more then normal. Then...peeing more then normal because she is drinking more.

Also...this dog is so well house trained. When she gets an infection...she can't seem to hold it as well. She will have mistakes. This is so rare for her that we know to get her in to the vet if she makes a mistake.
