When We Brought Brooklyn Home We Set Up An Xpen For Her With Potty Pads, Her Bed, Toys, Etc. (much The Same As Your Kitchen Area, I Guess. At Night She Sleeps In Her Kennel In Our Room. The First Few Weeks She Would Cry In The Night And I Would Get Up And Bring Her Down To The Pen And Put Her On Her Paper And Tell Her To Go Potty. She Did...i Did The Good Potty Praise And Brought Her Back Up To Her Kennel And We Finished Our Nights Sleep!! That Is How It Worked For Us! Good Luck!
