I'm told that broken bones are very common among the delicate toy breeds, especially the smaller yorkies. (Coco was 3.8 lbs.) Has anyone's baby ever encountered broken bones? Had this surgery?
My family and I are devastated and still in shock. She was a beautiful, spunky, healthy little bundle of joy. Her little sister is so sad and lonely without her. I just need some answers as to how this could have happened! Does anyone know how long this type of surgery normally takes? Perhaps she was under for too long for such a little dog???" |
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your baby. My Gracie broke her leg when she was 4 months old. She broke her fibula in 2 places and her growth plate slipped. She had to have surgery to pin the growth plate in place and the pins are still there. We we lucky to have a great surgeon who specializes in this. Our vet told us it is very unusual to only break the fibula. Normally they will also break their tibia. Again, I'm so sorry and send you hugs...
