Big YES to the above advice. It is great he is doing better but he shouldn't be getting pain meds unless he seems like he is suffering a lot. Dogs don't experience pain like we do and its a little bit of over-idenification to drug 'em up with painkillers. A little bit of discomfort is normal and will help him know his limitations physically so he doesn't pop a stitch or anything. In addition - its better for his liver not to give pain meds. Try and see how he does tomorrow without them. If he seems in a lot of pain - call the vet and bring him to be checked out before giving him pain meds. He should be pretty much himself tomorrow.
