Wow my body is still shaking. I gave Layla a pill (homeopathic) for her allergies. Today has been a rough allergy day and so this was her second one of the day. When i give her pills i lay her on her back and open her mouth and put it at the back of the throat, she swallows and then she gets a treat. Well today it went down the wrong tube and she couldn't breathe. She was trying to work it out and i remembered reading about the Heimlich and was able to help force it out. I want to say a HUGE thank you to the person who posted that and remind you to give your yorkies pills INSIDE of something (pill pocket, cheese) to ensure it is going down the RIGHT tube! I was so scared but was able to recognize she wasn't getting air.. however without that thread i wouldn't have known what to do. i'm so happy i just gave her a new toy that i was saving.. she is very happy too. Please learn from our close call.
