however our contest started on time (i mean i live in morgan city, so i had to drive to the nearest petsmart in houma) and there were only 3 people to begin with. The pug, the cat and my sophie. now i don't want to be conceited but i thought it would be quite obvious sophie would win. so we all took our pictures, and while we sit around waiting for the announcement, about 3 more people come in.
all these people were completely insane. One lady entered her 3 mutt's. i have nothing against them, really. but the lady was so nervy. She would hold her dogs, and dig in the chip bag, say very unnecessary things. i kept sophie in the buggy, but i let her down a little while, very close to me, and her male mutt comes up, sniffing sophie. i snatched her quickly, because i didn't want any incident. My friend that was there made a comment that we didn't want "mutt puppies because sophie wasn't fixed" and the lady basically laughed and said "he isn't fixed either"?
i must have missed what was so funny there.
another family brought their chihuahua puppy in, no clothes on it or anything. i thought that totally defeated the purpose but..whatever.
and the last couple was a boyfriend who had just purchased his girlfriend a "morkie" RIGHT BEFORE the contest from a pet store. we were talking and he continued to say that his "designer dog" was more expensive and basically better than my yorkie. i told him that his dog may be expensive, but don't be surprised when the vet bills start piling up. he asked me what i meant by that and said. "that's what happens when you help out a puppy mill." he was obviously confused. but very rude.
i was very unhappy with the whole thing. it was unorganized. Our petsmart had one contest with one winner. they didn't even do the best summer outfit contest. they basically just gave everyone a coupon for food.
