Question When can you start to ween puppies?

My pups are 3 1/2 weeks old now. If you combine 4 pups total weight they are over half the weight of their mother. I started allowing them to lap up esbilac from a saucer on Tuesday. They are so cute attempting this.
Their mother is getting wornout by trying to keep up with their demands, despite my intervention with supplementing the pups that aren't getting to the teats before she is done with feeding them. She also has mastitis that is clearing up and her appetite is good I am still feeding her whelping pudding, along with her extra protein etc. besides Roayl canin baby dog-puppy food at this time. I can start mushing up some baby dog food with the esbilac next week. I just don't want to rush things If I shouldn't . they are 23 days old today.
