How old is he? They will mark if not neutered, but this may not happen until after the age of one, and if you wait too long, neutering will only reduce marking, not eliminate it. If the vet uses the proper anesthetic, the risks are very low. Unneutered dogs are much much more likely to run away, and death as a result of car accidents is the number one cause of death in unneutered male dogs.
