Joey was 5 months old, we wanted to do it before marking became a problem, and yet late enough so that retained baby teeth could be removed. Yorkies often have to have baby teeth removed, and can cause a real problem if permanent teeth come in with baby teeth still there. Since this has to be done under anesthetic, the vet wanted to do it in one procedure. If I were you, I would ask my vet about this, and see what he recommends.

I haven't heard the theory on sperm counts, but I know that they have to wait until testicles drop, some are doing it very young, but because of the teeth issue, I believe it's best to wait.
