2 of my breeders did this and I used to think it was a good idea, but I have changed my mind because when yiu use a drug prophilactilly (as a preventative) I have learned from mynew vet that you can create dog that is hyper sensitive and the next time the drug is given it may not work...same reason they don't like to over-prescribe antibiotics for people or animals because they will eventually stop working.
