I have a customer at my grooming shop that has 2 yorkies. Both of them have great hair. One of them knot up at the base of the hair soo badly. We (the owners and I) are both dont know what to do to try and keep it from knotting up so badly. I can get him brushed out, but he will knot up around the neck when I have the grooming noose around the neck. They will only cut him show as a last alternative, but dont want to. His hair is soooo gorgeousl, silver and silky. Is there any advice as to what I can have him do at home to help keep things from getting so matted. They CLAIM they brush him every other day, sometimes everyday. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
