I have had puppies that nurse very vigorously like that. One way to tell if they are getting anything is to pull them off and gently squeeze the nipple to see if any milk comes out. If they had been nursing a little while they might have also sucked the nipple dry. Most likely if the pups are gaining weight and not crying they are getting plenty to eat.
