Tongue All this has been going on without me!

LOL!

Isn't it funny how huge YT is and big threads can go on for weeks before you know they're here!

Anyway, here's a bit about me. I have not yet sent Lisa anything secret about me. I can't think of anything. I thought of something, but I don't know if it counts.

Anyway, parts of this are copied from another similar thread...

I am 38 years old. I have been married for 17 years. I have two teenage boys: Joshua, 15 and David, 13. My oldest son has Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the autistic spectrum, but it is quite different from what most people think of when they think of autism. I live in southern California, but I lived in Jackson, MS for a short while when I was a teenager, as my mother's family is from there, so I have a deep connection to the south.

I do not work out of the home, but I am always busy, either with my kids, a project, or other things.

I am one of those types of people that will make or do anything myself. Sometimes, it is to save money (since if something I want costs too much, I'd rather find a way to do it myself rather than go without) sometimes it is just because I want to see if I can do it. Hence, I have sewn my entire bedroom, re-upholstered my dining room chairs, put up wainscotting in our entry, living room, dining room, and hallnew entry.jpg . I've even installed the automatic sprinkler system in my backyard. In the past, I have refinished furniture, and I recently re-did our cheapo mdf cabinets to look like dark stained wood.

I've also played with making other things, such as: homemade soap (which was a home-based business back in the late 1990's), cheese, malt, yogurt, sourdough starter (the wild yeast in Ontario, CA is not good for making bread, btw).

Speaking of home-based businesses...I have (unsuccessfully ) run three. The first one was as a Medela rental station. I rented and sold hospital-grade breastpumps to nursing mommies. The second one was a hand-made soap company. And the third, most recently was DoggyStyle by Misty--the dog dresses that I made last year. I got terribly burnt out on sewing, and so I put it all away and haven't dragged it out since.

I recently returned to school after a long hiatus and earned my Bachelors degree in English Literature in 2006. I graduated with highest honors, departmental honors, a member of 3 honor societies, and I was nominated by the English department for most outstanding student (though I didn't win that one, it was an honor to be nominated.) 100_0123.jpg

One of my hobbies is couponing. Yes, I am one of those that can go into a store and buy $120 worth of groceries for less than $5. My goal this year was to completely eliminate our credit card debt by saving extra money on groceries. The goal was to have it done by the end of the year, but as of the end of May, I succeeded.

My biggest project is me, and I consider myself to be a work-in-progress. After suffering for several years with chronic back pain, I have finally made the move to get better. Since the first of the year, I have lost nearly 20 pounds (still have a long way to go!) I went through physical therapy, and I have joined a gym, where I work out with a personal trainer two days a week on strengthening my core so that my back will stop hurting one day.

That's me.
