I think it is the heat. I live where it's really hot a lot of the year, and even though we've got the A/C blasting, when they go out, they seem to get tired. I think they eventually adjust to it a little bit, but at first, it really gets to them.

You could try one of those pads that have the little beads in it that you soak in water and it keeps them cool (but not wet).
