Well I actually experienced this with my older dog which is not a yorkie but a mixed terrier, my friend who has a yorkie has experienced this and my male yorkie is starting...so the last few years I have been hearing about dogs having the same symptoms. We thought it was food, shampoo and changed it but things did not change. so as far as my Yorkie, Skipper, he was put on Steroids before he started losing his hair. I noticed he was starting with crusty ear tips and scabs through his body. I know that the he will shortly get bald spots. So to prevent that I took him to the vet. Good Luck!!
