Do you have a friend who has a leash trained dog that you can walk with? I know it help a lot that Boo was already trained and he took the lead whenever we went out with Gracie. She just wanted to follow him and after a few times she started figuring it out. Another trick I've used is to carry them away from home a little ways and get them to walk back. It seems they have an easier time with walking to home then away from it. Then lots of treats and praise when they make it back home. |
