Im leash training too. And she will also follow me if not on a leash, but wont with she is on the leash. But I'm too scared to not have her on a leash outside because she is fast! What I am doing is just taking her outside to potty right now. Im not trying to walk her or anything. I waited until she had to potty, then put her outside while holding the leash. At first I had a cloth leash, but all she did was chew on it. I got a retractable leash, pretty long, and let it all the way out and stand there while she runs around doing her business. It seemed to help a lot. I just dont think she likes to be next to me when going potty.
