Yes, I agree with you. I was just in AZ visiting family, and the very night I flew in, while on route in my parents neighborhood, a coyote ran across the street in front of our car, it was coming from the shopping area, probably in the dumpsters looking for food. The next day we saw one on the exit ramp from the freeway, it was 5pm and it had no care, it was out on the prowl.

My parents live in a very populated community, they have a 'wall' that surrounds their backyard. They DO NOT bring the dogs into the full backyard at night, they have a system for night potty, only right outside the back door, they have an expen area, all the lights go on and they have noise makers and are on alert, anything seems funny and back inside they go.

So, I can really see the concern about the fenced in backyard in AZ
