The only thing that I did with my Suzi was not to put her up on the bed. She slept right next to me on a pillow, on the carpet from day two on. Then about a couple weeks later Suzi learned how to jump up onto my bed all by herself. Since she knows how to safely jump up and jump down she does share the bed with me now.
I do not have answers for your other questions. Just be sure to give your first Yorkie plenty of TLC and attention too.
