As for cruise ships, they are pretty awesome! Ive never been on one but the thought of that much weight and size just floating on water is amazing to me also!

I was in awe of the ship when I went on my first cruise for the very reason you speak of. My granddaughter was very upset when she found out I was going because she had just seen a movie about a ship sinking. ;-)
I went and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I didn't do the shows and bars and gambling because that is just not my cup of tea, but the relaxation was tremendous! Sitting out on that balcony in the mornings with coffee and pastries was wonderful!
I did the Mexican Riveria cruise. Acapulco was disgusting and filthy, but the rest was good.
