My dogs get a new nickname about once a month, haha. They seem to adjust just fine to their "new name". But a lot of times these nicknames sound a little bit close to their real name... but not always. "Little Imp" sounds nothing like "Epsilon", lol. (My husband calls him that sometimes). I think it's all in the way you say the name. I know I have a special voice when I talk to my babies.
I think you could probably train her pretty quick what her new name is too. If she looks at you when you say her name, give her a treat. |
