Before I got my little Tinklit, I thought there were such things as "teacup" breeds. Of course, once I started doing the research I became educated. It is very sad though, that owners and professionals in vet offices still think there is such a thing. I don't think it is rude at all to inform someone when they ask if your dog is a "teacup" that there is no such thing. They aren't trying to upset us by asking that, they just don't know any better and it's up to us as "parents" to educate people whenever they give us the chance. I just tell them "actually, it's a myth that there is such a thing as a teacup breed, just as with any dog (even people!) some are smaller than others." I usually just get "OH, I didn't know that!"
