I quickly discovered that she slept most of the day. I did leave a radio on with a talk station that she could listen to so she did not feel so alone. If you can have a friend or dog-walker come in and check and play with the baby once during the day, that would be a good thing.
Getting a pen to keep in the utility room as a "safe" area he can go to might be a pretty good idea. I'll have to look into that. Thanks. Unfortunately, work is thirty miles away so breaks home just aren't an option. Besides, working in a manufacturing environment, breaks are extremely structured in schedule and duration.

Leaving a radio on is also a great idea. I'll have to invest in a cheap portable radio for Jackson.

Having a dog walker check in wouldn't be an option for me. I'm just not trusting enough to give someone I don't know EXTREMELY well that sort of open access to my home/belongings. Unfortunately most of my friends work similar shifts so it would be hard to find someone willing to commit to that sort of daily help.

Thanks again for the great advice. It was all great even though some of it won't work for me. I really like the large pen and radio ideas.

Thanks again for the great advice.
