We do not routinely give "clean-out" shots because if you have nursing puppies, they are releasing small amounts of oxytocin when they do. This helps clean out the uterus and contract the uterus back down to normal size. However...we account for all placentas during whelping...so if you are not 100% sure she delivered all placents then I would recommend the oxytocin injection today. She can get an infection if one is left in her uterus...
