I'm one of those too! Although I dont' have quite 16.
I'm the only child of both of my birth parents. When I was born my birthmom had one son. I never really lived with either of my parents even though they were married. My paternal grandmother took me home from the hospital when I was a few days old. Both my birthparents lived in the house with me at some point but it was Mamaw who always took care of me. At age 2 she paid off my birthmom so she would give me up and Mamaw adopted me. My birthparents marriage didn't last too long.
My birthmom ended up having 2 other children whom I've met. My birthdad ended up having 2 other children, whom i've also met... one of the children was in fostercare in FL so my birthdads sister ended up adopting her. So I get to see her all the time. She is 16 and one of my bestfriends. She found out we were sisters when she was 10 and at first hated it and hated being adopted, but now she loves that we are sisters.
So I have my mamaw's (who is legally my mom and who i think of as mom) 3 children that I consider my siblings.
Then I have 3 halfs on my birthmoms' side and 2 halfs (that i know of) on my birthdad's side. So I have 8 siblings total, but my family is all wacky. I'm sure i probably confused someone.
