i haven't even used the green ones for boiling because I have had a little trouble finding them. BUT, I do buy the unroasted, plain ones from wal mart (I think they are like 88 or 98 cents a bag) and boil those and they are just fine

I'm sure the green ones are MUCH better...but these work well enough to keep me happy

I find them in the produce section in a little clear and green bag

For the boiled peanuts....I am having trouble getting some green ones to boil. Californians don't do boiled peanuts. I found an on-line source of 8 pounds for about 28.00 but when I sent an inquiry via the website I received no response. I wish I still knew some peanut farmers.
Out here it is funny....many people have no idea that the peanuts are formed underground. They think they grow on peanut trees, I guess. My best friend didn't quite believe me when I told her that. She thought I was teasing. |
