However, being from the deep south, I LOVE grits. NOT eaten the 'yankee' way with sugar and milk. I would throw that in the trash.  Salt and butter only for me. Some folks don't care for it (like my two grandsons) and some love it with me (like my granddaughter).
I also LOVE boiled peanuts and others won't even try them. But if they did.....they would love them!

I looove grits! I grew up eating them like you with salt and lots of butter. Also sometimes with a fried egg. We also did cheese grits and now as an adult I love them as a dinner side dish with lots of garlic and cheese! I think it's funny that so many non-southerners think grits are gross but will eat polenta- it's ALMOST the same thing! Why is one chic and the other is icky?
