Darcy was on pedigree food (kibble mixed with a little wet) when i first bought her home 5 weeks ago, I have heard really bad reviews about it, and she was always scratching too, so I have changed her over to really good brands the dry is James Wellbeloved and the wet is natures diet (uk foods), but I only add a tiny amount of wet to mix with the dry , as that's how she likes it.
If that's how your baby likes to eat it, I don't see the problem.
I have also seen bad reviews about eukanuba, but can't remember where
