Wow! That was some hummingbird! They are quite territorial, aren't they?

Yesterday morning I was sitting on the porch reading the morning paper and heard one behind me. It was about five inches off the ground, going back and forth, over and over again, a distance of about a foot and a half. It did this for a while. I could see nothing there that it was trying to intimidate. Crazy bird.

Later, it did the very same thing right in front of another hummingbird that was sitting on a branch. It just watched it, the sitting bird's head was turning back and forth like folks do at a tennis match. LOL It certainly is amusing to watch them.

I have had them hover right in front of my eyes while I am trying to read. At first, it sort of scared me, but now it doesn't bother me. They are curious little creatures!
