That's a good indicator for switching food brands. All animals pass gas, but if it seems excessive, it's the food. Poorly digestible ingredients, quality of ingredients, or sensitivity to something in it possibly. It the gas is really foul, the food could be spoiled/rancid. I'd stop feeding it and try something else.
