Sammy (now 8 months old) has been coughing a little off and on since we've had him. I felt he must have allergies as he has done it more since everything is blooming. However, he sometimes "gags" himself on a toy and coughs or when he is hot from playing. Usually when I give him water, he will quit.
Last night when I was putting him to bed, I felt his lymph nodes seemed enlarged around his neck. Took him to the vet this morning. She said the lymph nodes were concerning her, so she put him on an antibiotic as well as a pill for the cough. The vet said it is the equivalent of a human having laryngitis but Sammy can still bark

I'll keep you updated in a few days as to whether or not his lymph nodes go down. She said he very well could have allergies.
