My 4 cats are the brunt of my 2 Yorkies antics. When they tire of it, the cats get "up" and away or hide out. You might try gating your pup in one room or on one level of your house, with an escape route for the cat, so the cat can have run of the rest of the house and get away from the pup when she/he needs to. My 16 y.o. cat pretty much ignores the two dogs, no matter how much they bark and chase.
