| I used to be the head of marketing at the company I worked for (years ago) and had to come up with something like this as well...
I chose to do a celebrity silent auction.... contacted the pr people of different celebs and requested a personal item, autographed item, etc. - - - most were very accommodating and quickly sent out different things for the auction....
We got an autographed pair of blue jeans from John Michael Montgomery... an autographed stetson hat from Tim McGraw... can you tell we're in Oklahoma!!! hahaha.... we got several things from Reba - Dolly - etc.... and on into the different celebs, we had items from race car drivers, actors, actresses.... it was great fun and the auction was a complete success!!
With the silent auction, items can be set out in a designated area and folks can bid throughout the day/week with each shift... then the announcements and winners can be made at the bbq or whenever!
