If you take your pup out to potty and he doesn't go, put him back in the crate for 15 mintues and then take him back outside. Repeat until he goes potty. Every time he starts to poo or pee, say "go potty" and gently praise. (Do this in the area you want him to potty.) Eventually, you will be able to say "go potty" and he will go on command where you set up his potty area at.
