That is what I though mine would do, run off. So I got on here to see how it is that others let theirs go running off a leash.
Why do you think an electric fence is a bad thing? I do not know a thing about them, but I am going to check into it.

there is a special collar they must wear with the fence.. lots of trouble...
the book ... let the dog decide ... has a way to train them to stay... but, i have a fence....
