Hi and Welcome to YT!

I don't think it is normal. You could try to give a little Karo Syrup or Pancake Syrup (if you don't have any Karo Syrup) to see if that may perk him up some. Just enough on your fingertip for him to lick it off. You also might want to call the er vet and see what they say. Maybe someone with more experience will come along and give you some more advice. I'll keep him in my prayers! Keep us posted!
