Max sounds like he is doing wonderful so far with all the commands you have taught him. I really wouldn't worry too much about the "executed" way unless you plan on using it often.
Enjoy the training, it should be a fun time bonding with Max. He will sense your frustration and possibly get frustrated himself.?.
