Thanks Juliet — I think I recall you telling me about Zeus in my other thread about Ruthie's shunt. It makes a huge difference to hear other people's stories - to know that there are 'exceptions to the rule' out there, and other people/pets going through the same thing.

At this point, I am ruling out surgery for both dogs — I just can't justify it in my mind. I agree, that if anything, I would put Oscar on the same food as Ruthie (canned l/d) which would also make feeding time much easier!
