I am graduating college in August with a BA in Business Marketing so I figured it was about time for me to start my job search. The thing is, EVERYONE I ask has been telling me that they found their job solely through connections (parents, friends, knowing someone at the company). Now I do have some connections but not many... I was just wondering if anyone had advice on how to find a good job?? Like, where should I look (I also keep hearing that sites like Monster are no good)? I have also been checking local newspapers and craigslist but a lot of jobs seem like scams... I just want a good job!!

ANY advice would be appreciated bc I am pretty scared I won't find a job and I will have to move back home to El Paso (yuck).

I currently live in central Texas and I would love to find a job somewhere in Austin, Dallas, or Houston.
