Here's what I would try:
Grind up some quality dry food in a blender until it is very fine so all he has to do is lick it. Leave this dry food down for him.

Buy some baby food chicken and mix with one of two of the following vegetables: sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, carrots, squash. Put this mixture on your finger and see if he will lick it off your fingers or put it on your finger and stick it in his mouth. His mouth must be terribly sore. I would also be giving him some Nutri-cal or Pet-tinic.

Another thing mine are crazy about is the Natural Balance Lamb dog food roll that they sell at Petco. You could grate some of that up and offer it to him. I know that will put weight on him.

I just hope and pray that there is nothing else wrong with him. It is so wonderful that you are giving this little boy a chance to enjoy life a little longer. I will be praying for him.
