I am so sorry for your loss, but I definitely agree with this.. it is your decision but IMO I think you should definitely go. I know it is hard to leave your dog but believe me, she won't be "traumatized for life" or anything if you are not with her for a few hours.. it was the hardest thing for me to even go on vacation because I have never been away from Princess for more than 2 days and I had to go for 2 weeks.. but she is fine and when I came back she was extra excited and then it was as if we had never been apart.. so don't worry about her too much and I think you should go
