that is such awful news my heart goes out to your brother in law and very scary news too for all of us with dogs.
I check lottie each time i bring her in from outside walks now after the ticks ive found on her. Tho as promised the frontline does appear to kill any ones that have managed to get on her.
Im not sure what the difference is between the kind of ticks we get in the UK and the kind you get in the US.
They are such awful awful things, bar the fact they are burrowing into the skin..which just makes me feel sick, they carry such awful diseases with them. Ive been wary of taking lottie out into the fields every since i found the ones on her, and its not fair on her cos she loves to run around the fields its the only time she gets off her lead while outside. So as soon as she comes in from her walk i check her allover for ticks. Its something i never really thought about until i found one on her, totally forgetting that when we were kids spending our holidays at my grandfathers croft we were always getting bitten by ticks!
