On mine, I don't have to remove the bobbin casing, the lever is just to the right of the casing. Do you see any lever with directional arrows near the bobbin?

I've tried looking on line for an answer and will keep trying.

I don't know if a picture would help or not.

I just saw where you are making buttonholes, my machine has a setting on a knob on the face of the machine for buttonholes.....I don't have to physically change the feed dog position.
