Why is it so bad? Because every puppy bought from a puppy mill condemns the mama dog and female pups from that litter to YEARS of forced breeding, life in a small cell, living in feces and urine from themselves and other dogs.

These pups come from places that DO not give vet care to their dogs. Most are sick and suffering, with ailments that could be taken care of from a vet.

The only way to get puppy mills to go out of business is everyone gets educated and refuses to purchase from a pet store.

I'm sorry that breeders and rescues will not let you adopte because your child is not old enough. However, reputable places have this in place for the safety of the dog. This does not mean YOU would not be a good pet parent, or that you are unable to safely raise a dog. It just takes into account the fact that small children are most often rough, want to pick up the dog, or could get bit from sharp puppy teeth.

Have you had a dog in the past with your child? If so, what type and did you have any issues?
