I was hoping to get an experienced Breeder's opinion on my situation, I have a couple of concerns and think maybe if I lay it all out I can them get them resolved:
-Gucci (mother) 4.5lbs-first litter, 11 days ago.
-3 puppies (2 females,1 male)
-Puppy weight: 15.2 oz(daily increases) , 13.6 oz(daily increases), 10.4 oz (weight has plained-out last 3 days). all were born at or below 3 oz
-All puppies are active and feeding regulary (have been checked by Vet also)
-eyes are still closed as of today.
-Largest puppy seems to have a more solid bowl movement than the rest, occasionally there is a small amount still visible from his rectum.
-Mother is eating puppy food mixed with small amounts of chicked and taking small daily amounts of Nutri-cal (per Vet)
-Mother is not drinking water willingly, we are administering through syringe about 4 oz every 4 hours, along with puppy sub-milk dilluted with water (basically just to disguise the water).
-Mother is in good spirits feeding, cleaning puppies, and eating normally. visually everything seems fine.
-Whelping area is small blow up pool , sanitized and cleaned constantly away from any direct drafts.
-House temperature is about 80 degrees (dry climate), puppies seem comfortable bodies are warm.
-Mother pants after feeding and periodically throughout the day.
**I'm concerned that the room temp is too hot & dry, I can't figure out why mother will not drink (atleast in front of us). Our male dog seems to be unaffected by the room temp. I was also concerned about the large puppies solid bowl movement and the smallest puppy that hasnt gained in three days.
